NORDZUCKER explores a very unique sound space. Birgit Ulher, Michael Maierhof and Chris Heenan have developed an individual sound language beyond the conventional instrumental sound, working with extended playing techniques and preparations, e.g. with clothespins, metal objects and mutes. The open texture, interspersed with pauses, is determined by split and multi-layered sounds and sound mixtures, combining improvisational freedom with musical precision.
